National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL)
Introduction
The National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) is an online-learning platform initiated by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India in 2003 to promote learning through technology. Thousands of technical and non-technical courses are offered periodically, in collaboration with experts from eminent institutes across the country like IITs, NITs, IISc. NPTEL offers more than 3000 online courses in various engineering discipline and instituted more than 4000 local chapters across the country to take forward these courses.
SCET Local Chapter
Instituted on 28th DECEMBER 2021, the SWAYAM-NPTEL Local Chapter (LC ID: 4692) of SCET. The local chapter encourages the students and faculty members to enroll in any course of their interest and provides all the required support for the successful completion. So far, 30+ faculty members have completed several courses and largely benefitted through this initiative. Local chapter assists students in identifying mentors for the course, completing assignments in time, and payment of course fees etc. Upon successful completion of the course, NPTEL examination fees is reimbursed to respective faculty members whose score is more than 70 %. Following are the primary benefits of taking online courses through NPTEL.
