The Department of Computer Science & Engineering is a unique centre of SCET established in 2009. It offers a 4 year B.E (Computer Science & Engineering) programme and 2 year M.E. (Computer Science Engineering) programme. The courses are offered under the auspices of Anna University and are recognized by AICTE. Department has well qualified and experienced teaching faculty and technical staff with state of the art laboratories to meet the quality education required for present challenging societal and industrial needs. The students of this department stood as college toppers in academics and as well as in all competitive exams. The department is committed to strengthen the academic, research and functional abilities of the students, in order to enable them to stand as competent and versatile software professionals after graduation. The department has well equipped and spacious laboratories with modern computer equipments.

Computer Science & Engineering Department endeavor upon providing high quality technical education to meet the ever growing challenges in the emerging industry, social needs and provide all-round personality development with responsibility, emphasizing on quality, standards, research and innovation for students and faculty.

- To include new elective papers to adapt with latest software technology trends.
- To Increase the number of Industrial visits and Advanced Industrial Training.

- Emphasis on Awareness of Entrepreneurship development skills.
- To encourage Industry-Institute-Interaction, resulting in consultancy, collaborative projects, training, and student projects.
- To offer more number of short term courses and Job oriented Training Programmes.
LONG TERM GOALS
- To develop more research programme in Computer Engineering field.
- Industrial Training Center for students and Faculty.
- Start graduate/post-graduate course in the emerging technologies.
- To frame the curriculum to motivate logical thinking and technical skills in the various process of software development life cycle.
- To provide the placement activities by alumnus of various leading Software Industries to make the students marketable in the job pool.
- To educate students with the practical exposure in software testing and infrastructure services so as to obtain sufficient depth of knowledge.
- Establish Center for Training Rural Youth in IT.
- To encourage industry – institution partnership with the collaboration of the department, private software industries and Public IT sectors.
- To start Technical NGO under the department for the goodness and welfare of society.
- To assert the quality in the programme through Accreditation from NBA and also standardizing through ISO procedure.
