The Department of Mechanical Engineering at SCET was established along with the institution in the year 2009 – Undergraduate Programme B.E – Mechanical Engineering with an intake of 60 students and then with increased intake of 120 students in the year 2010. Post Graduated Program M.E – Thermal Engineering was started in 2011 with 18 students as a centre of excellence for Quality Education. The Department boasts of highly qualified and experienced professionals with wide exposure in all aspects of the subjects they handle. Many faculties possess/ pursue PhD and are involved in research. The students of the department have consistently performed well in academics with 5 University ranks so far. In addition to academics, the students’ career is enhanced through training in soft skills, personality development and placement training classes with industrial and field experts. Value added programs such as CAD, Pro-E, Solid works, CNC Machine Programming, CATIA, PIPING-SOFTWARE, CFD, and GATE are regularly conducted. The facilities are provided for doing online certification courses like NPTEL and SWAYAM.

- To make our students with strong subject basics, with good CGPA / without arrears.
- Submitting papers, participating in seminars, conferences, symposiums periodically.
- To increase the number of membership of professional bodies in mechanical engineering.
- To have frequent interaction program with standard domain industries.
- To provide students a strong academic excellence and quality programs beyond the syllabus.
LONG TERM GOALS
- With Expeditiously, make our department as ‘National Board of Accreditation – NBA’
- Higher-priority for Continuous Research activities in various Mechanical fields.
- Consistently engaged with Central & State government’s Proposals &Projects.
- To establish a centre of excellence in mechanical engineering.
- To graduate students capable of build up their careers upon a solid foundation of knowledge
