The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was started in the year 2009. The Department offers four year B.E Electronics and Communication Engineering programme with sanctioned intake of 60 from 2009-2010 onwards.
The Department offers M.E Applied Electronics with an intake of 18 from 2012 onwards. The Department has well experienced and well qualified faculty members. The Department has also young, dynamic and energetic faculty members.
The Department has well equipped Microprocessor and Microcontroller, Optical and Microwave, Communication System, Digital, Linear integrated Circuits, Digital Signal Processing / VLSI and Electronics system design laboratories with latest equipments to meet the dynamic changes in curriculum. The courses offered are updated regularly to keep pace with the growing demands of the industry and the research community.
VISION
To produce skilled and technically competent Electronics and Communication Engineers to face the needs of the industry and society. And to empower rural students with latest knowledge in Electronics and Communication Engineering which gives creative solution to societal needs.

- To pursue research and new technologies in Electronics & Communication Engineering and related disciplines in order to serve the needs of the society, industry, government and scientific community
- To attain academic excellence in Electronics and Communication engineering through innovation in learning, research and state of art laboratories.
- To establish suitable environment for the students to develop professionalism leadership qualities and skills with high ethical standards for self and social development
- To groom students with good attitude and creative thinking.

SHORT TERM GOALS
- To increase the appeal of our undergraduate program by improving the attractiveness, relevance, and flexibility of the curriculum.
- To enhance our visibility as a leading department by pursuing large collaborative research, educational, training, and international partnership grants, and by seeking leadership positions for our faculty in professional societies.
- To realign and strengthen our partnership with the Photonics Center.
LONG TERM GOALS
- To propel the ECE Department into the top 10 Engineering colleges in the Tamil Nadu, by enhancing the true quality of our programs and our faculty and student body, and by enhancing our national visibility through a concerted publicity effort. We also aim at becoming number 1 in a few sub-areas of research.
- To continue to focus on a few important interdisciplinary areas of excellence that will create outstanding programs of research and innovation while contributing to a strong undergraduate learning experience.
- To be aggressive and opportunistic in pursuit of emerging areas of ECE through realignment of our programs and by selection of new faculty.
