IEEE Student Branch
IEEE is the leading professional association for the advancement of technology. With more than 400,000 members in more than 160 countries, IEEE is the world’s largest technical professional society. Through its global membership, IEEE is a leading authority on areas ranging from aerospace systems, computers and telecommunications to biomedical engineering, electric power, consumer electronics, and many other technical areas. Members rely on IEEE as a source of technical and professional information, resources and services. To foster an interest in the engineering profession, IEEE also serves student members in colleges and universities around the world, advocates for the profession and helps to introduce technology careers to young people worldwide.
Currently 10 students of our department avail life time member, 15 students with annual member and 5 faculties with life time membership in IEEE
ISTE
The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) is the leading National Professional Society for the Technical Education System in our country with the motto of Career Development of Teachers and Personality Development of Students and overall development of our Technical Education System.
ISTE is a Strategic partner of AICTE and organizes Professional Refinement Programmes for faculty members of AICTE approved Technical Institutions sponsored by AICTE. ISTE is a Premier Agency operating MHRD, AICTE, MIT and International Projects. This reputed technical professional society honors technical people and the institution every year across the country. There are many feathers on SALEM College crown, honored by ISTE, for the invaluable contribution to the society and the student community.
Currently 12 students of our department avail life time memeber, 20 students with annual member and 6 faculties with life time member ship.
IEI STUDENT CHAPTER
The Institution of Engineers India (IEI) ECE Students Chapter at Salem College Of Engineering and Technology has been recognized as an authorized student chapter approved by The Institutions of Engineers (India).
- Various technical events like seminars, industrial visits, group discussions, technical quiz competitions, workshops and model/ poster competitions are organized throughout the year with sponsor and banner of IEI.
- An Annual Students’ Convention with a Seminar on a topical subject and Technical Session will be conducted to provide a platform for presentation of technical papers and building fellowship and opportunities for networking with peers and senior members to the Institution.
- Opportunity to participate in technical events e.g. Seminars, Symposia, Conventions, Workshops etc. organized by various IEI centres at State, National and International levels at a concessional rate of 20%.
Currently 16 students of our department avail the IEI membership.
CSI
The CSI has been instrumental in guiding the Indian IT industry down the right path since its formative years. The mission of the CSI is to facilitate research, knowledge sharing, learning and career enhancement for all categories of IT professionals which undertakes the activities related to certification of professionals in the latest technologies. Salem College of Engineering and Technology organizing many events and activities under the CSI.
Currently 46 students of our department avail the CSI membership.
IETE
The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) is India’s leading recognised professional society devoted to the advancement of Science and Technology of Electronics, Telecommunication & IT. Founded in 1953, IETE is spread all over India and abroad, serving more than 60,000 members through 65 centres. The Institution provides leadership in Scientific and Technical areas which are of paramount importance to national development and economy. The objectives of IETE focus on advancing electrotechnology. IETE conducts and sponsors technical meetings, conferences, symposia, and exhibitions all over India, publishes technical journals and provides continuing education as well as career advancement opportunities to its members.
Currently 9 students of our department avail the IETE membership.
