The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE)

The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) is the leading National Professional non-profit making Society for the Technical Education System in our country with the motto of Career Development of Teachers and Personality Development of Students and overall development of our Technical Education System.  Being the only national organisation of educators in the field of Engineering and Technology, ISTE effectively contributes in various missions of the Union Government. The strength of ISTE is the strong base it has in technical education institutions in the country 

The major objective of the ISTE is to provide quality training programmes to teachers and administrators of technical institutions to update their knowledge and skills in their fields of activity and to assist and contribute in the production and development of top quality professional engineers and technicians needed by the industry and other organisations.

Currently 20 students of our department avail  life time member, 24 students with annual member and 7 faculties  with life time  membership in ISTE

Society of Automobile Engineers (SAE)

Society of Automobile Engineers (SAE) is the leader in connecting and educating mobility professionals to enable safe, clean, and accessible mobility solutions.SAE is a global association of more than 128,000 engineers and related technical experts in the aerospace, automotive and commercial vehicle industries. SAE core competencies are life-long learning and voluntary consensus standards development.SAE’s charitable arm is the SAE Foundation, which supports many programs, including A World In Motion and the Collegiate Design Series, Founded in 1905, SAE strives to serve its primary constituents in a variety of ways. Through its globally-recognized magazines, Automotive Engineering International, Aerospace Engineering, and Off Highway Engineering, SAE informs the mobility community about the latest developments in the field.SAE’s broad array of technical, historical, and statistical publications are distributed to customers in more than 65 countries annually. SAE’s Training and Professional Development capabilities have been expanded in the past 20 years – SAE now produces more than 450 separate professional development events every year.

Currently 18 students of our department avail  life time member, 16 students with annual member and 5 faculties  with life time  membership in SAE.

Tribology society of India (TSI)

Tribology society of India (TSI) was set up as a professional, non profit body bringing  together academicians, industry as well as research organizations as its members. It was set up in its present form, in June 1989, with its headquarters at Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, Corporate R&D at Hyderabad. This society is affiliated to the International Tribology Council, UK which has  33 other  national societies  spread all over the world . The activities related to tribology in the country started way back in 1972, when First International Conference on Tribology was organized  by Indian Institute of Technology at New Delhi. Continuing with this, a series of National and International Conferences had been organized in the last 29 years. Besides there are a number of academic and industrial centers in India actively pursuing research related activities in this area. The society has seven local chapters organizing a number of events like seminars and workshops. The society also has a regular quarterly newsletter, which will soon be developed into a full-fledged journal. There are plans to bring out Tribology series  Booklets  to disseminate information related to various topics of interest to  industries. The application of correct Tribological practices can protect and enhance the life of plants and machinery, improve efficiency of operations, reduce energy consumption and prevent expensive breakdowns.

Currently 12 students of our department avail life time member, 18 faculties  with life time  membership in TSI.

The Indian Institute of Welding (IIW-India)

The Indian Institute of Welding (IIW-India) was incorporated on the 22nd April, 1966 at Calcutta to foster the development of welding science, technology and engineering in India and since then has been serving the cause of the welding industry through its 13 branches / chapters throughout India. The institute is a non-profit making organisation registered under Section 25 of the Company’s Act 1956 and is also registered under Section 12A of the Income Tax Act 1961, as an Institution for charitable purpose. Through its various activities and programmes, IIW-India is now recognised as the premier Institute related to welding in the country with over 4500 Individual and Corporate Members. Further, as a member society of the International Institute of Welding, it is helping to project the importance and achievements of the Indian Welding Industry to the global community.

Currently 14 students of our department avail life time member, 7 faculties  with life time membership in IIW-India.
